Hi, I’m DeShonda, founder of Birth with Dee and the heart behind Dee The Birth Doula LLC. I’m a wife, a proud mom of four boys, and a woman who understands just how powerful—and sometimes overwhelming—the journey into motherhood can be.

My path into doula work didn’t start here, it started in healthcare. With a background in women’s health and fertility, I’ve spent years supporting individuals and families through some of their most vulnerable and life-changing moments. That experience shaped the way I show up today: calm, attentive, and deeply committed to making sure people feel heard, respected, and cared for.

As a mother myself, I don’t just bring professional knowledge,I bring real-life understanding. I know what it feels like to want reassurance, to have questions, to need someone in your corner who truly gets it. That’s the kind of support I give every client.

Birth with Dee was created with intention. I am especially passionate about advocating for Black maternal health and helping create safer, more supported experiences for Black women, who deserve to be listened to, protected, and prioritized. At the same time, my care is inclusive and welcoming to all families. No matter who you are, you deserve to feel safe, supported, and confident in your journey.

My approach is simple: soft, calm, and connected support. I meet you where you are, help you feel prepared, and stay grounded so you can do what your body was designed to do. Whether you’re preparing for birth or adjusting to life postpartum, I’m there to guide, support, and uplift you every step of the way.

This work is more than a service to me it’s a calling. And when you work with me, you’re not just getting a doula… you’re gaining someone who genuinely cares about your experience, your voice, and your outcome.
